Creating a place for healthy community to grow

Louise and Hannes began their journey where life was raw and real—working in busy kitchens, creating spaces of belonging, and walking closely with those often pushed to the edges of society. Much of their early work was alongside people battling addiction, offering not just meals, but dignity, structure, and the opportunity to learn. Through hands-on training in the kitchen, they helped men and women rediscover purpose, rebuild confidence, and take meaningful steps forward.

These years shaped more than a programme—they formed a deep conviction about people, transformation, and the kind of community where lasting change can take root.

Today, Louise and Hannes come alongside churches, leaders, and pastors with that same conviction. They work to equip, encourage, and strengthen ministries from the inside out—helping leaders build environments where people are known, discipled, and released into their calling. Their focus is not simply on activity or growth, but on cultivating healthy cultures where disciples are formed and disciples go on to make disciples.

What began around a kitchen table has grown into a wider invitation: to support the Church in becoming more effective, more compassionate, and more deeply aligned with the heart of Jesus.

The context may have shifted, but the heartbeat remains the same—walking with people, investing deeply, and seeing lives transformed in ways that last.

With decades of experience in the hospitality industry and pastoral care, Hannes and Louise Tischhauser offer training, friendship, networking ideas, inspiration and ongoing practical input.

Soulkitchen works in the kitchen, at the supermarket, with the churches, on the streets and around the table.

We spent years working in kitchens, with churches, on the streets, and around the table. Looking back, one of the things we loved most was helping people grow in confidence, find friendships, and feel better equipped to live healthy, connected lives in their local communities.

That work hasn’t stopped—it’s just taken a different shape. We’ve come to see that the same calling now leads us to equip leaders and churches, helping them find new direction and rediscover the joy in what they do.
